Made from the Blue Agave plant and grown only in the semi-tropical regions of Jalisco, Mexico, Wholesome's newest addition to their sweeteners line is a low-glycemic sweetener with 25% more sweetening power than sugar. (You'll use 25% less agave than sugar to achieve the same sweet taste; bakers should also reduce the amount of liquids by 1/3 when adapting recipes from sugar to agave). Raw Agave is processed below 118 degrees F to protect the plant's natural enzymes. The Raw Agave's light molasses or maple flavor enhances your ingredients' flavors. It is highly soluble, and lightly viscous, with nearly no aftertaste. It is a perfect substitute for table-top sweeteners and great in making sweets as well as savory foods.
